Macronutrients: What are they?

There is a ton of information out there on diets, but what about the basics!? Understanding the basics is key to success and consistency!

Carbohydrates - primary source of immediate energy for all of your body’s cells - keyword immediate. Food like beans, lentils, quinoa (also a source of protein!), sweet potatoes and fruit

Fats - Fat we consume is digested and either used for energy, stored in adipose (fat) tissue, or incorporated into other body tissues and organs. It is found in cooking oils, nuts, seeds (like chia, flax and hemp), eggs and avocado

Protein - Protein helps replace worn out cells, transports various substances throughout the body, and aids in growth and repair. You can find protein in fish, chicken, turkey, beef, cheese and yogurt
