I have been participating in CrossFit since 2017 but my fitness journey began long before then. In high school, I did every sport I could get my hands on and I would joke with everyone that I may not be the first one picked, but I’m also not gonna be last. “Aggressively Average” at all things athletics!

In college, I was on the track and field team where I did the decathlon for two years before pursuing my degree in sports medicine as an athletic trainer. While working in athletic training I was able to help athletes of all levels from middle schoolers to collegiate athletes and even some professionals! I developed a passion for helping people get back to doing what they love, sports and recreation! In enters CrossFit….

After working in sports medicine I decided that everyone needs to learn how to move better, not just competitive athletes. I received my doctorate in physical therapy from U of M - Flint in 2020 and it was during this time that I also began coaching CrossFit. Since then I have worked to blend these two fields to help my patients reach higher levels than they previously thought possible as well as keep gym members safe and moving at whatever level they are at.

I look at CrossFit as a way to bolster my everyday fitness. I’m more comfortable demonstrating exercises at work. I can go on hikes and adventures without a second thought. I can jump into most sports or activities and still be aggressively average, and I have CrossFit to thank for that. So come join a class so we can enjoy the thrill of learning and movement together!

After being done with college athletics I got out of working and maintaining general health. I lost all drive and because of that, my health suffered. CrossFit allowed me to refocus my competitive nature and provided a supportive community to guide me along the way.
